How To Make Slip And Slide More Slippery

Every summer, many adults like to build or just buy one slip n slide in their backyard to enjoy mega summer fun of slipping and sliding in water. A question has been talked many times, that is how to make slip n slide more slippery so that would make riders glide more smooth and even fast.

Below are benches of stuff that you can use to make your slip and slide slippery.

  • dish soap(dishwashing soap)
  • baby soap
  • body soap
  • castile soap
  • bubble bath
  • baby oil
  • vegetable oil
  • olive oil
  • body wash
  • lubricant
  • jelly lubricant
  • Vaseline Petroleum jelly
  • shampoo
  • laundry detergent
  • detergent

The list may not cover all, but they will do the work. Still, there are some things to consider about when you choose one of them.

First is budget, playing a slip n slide can cost you some money because the lubrication stuff you use would run out quickly. So you need prepare enough for all participants.

Second, due to the nature of some materials, for example, oil might make some people feel sick or greasy, and hard to wash off. Soap and detergent would burn people’s eyes and gross when accidentally got into mouth.

Third, if you do slip and slide outdoors near rivers or on beach, you should consider about using environment friendly lubricants.

According to loads of discussions online I found, most people prefer dish soap, but you can choose whatever works for you.

With regards to the above remarks we used hair conditioner for our daughter. As dish soap did irritate even with a wet suit on. And made it even faster!!!

Baby oil works good when there’s no water but not so good when it has water…Dish soap for doing dishes like Joy works well for my kids… But from another post I seen on here I’m going to try conditioner….because after seeing that I believe that will probably work the best for the fastest

We tried to do a slip and slide like this and no matter the amount of what we used and how we used it, people just couldn’t get it slippery. I feel like we are missing something.

Do not use shampoo because you have nothing to wash your hair with and I’m just makes a huge mess and I don’t like it because I can make you smell nice and I just like you have nothing left in bathtub you don’t have anything to have a bath with as well you need stuff you can get from America you need fairy liquid and it just like you have nothing to do your dishes with around like totally astonished why I don’t have any fairy that could this have no shampoo bath stuff and the him it’s just absolutely astonishing I’m your basic that’s how much it’s impossible that all the stuff you need.

I’ve used everything that’s listed above on the comments and the thing that I ended up using that makes it so much more slippery is bar soap it takes a little more time to get on your hands and knees and make it slippery but it works makes them go so fast works better than anything we tried

I read an article once on DIY lube. You just put flax seed in a soup stock bag and boil it until the water gets slippery. Organic and super slippery! I made it once and loved it. I recently bought a slip n slide and want to try making again in a huge pot.
